After waiting and waiting, Nintendo finally provided us with the release date of the SNES Classic, September 29th.

This cute little system comes with 21 games on it, including one previously unreleased game, Star Fox 2.

  • Kirby’s Dream Course™
  • The Legend of Zelda™: A Link to the Past™
  • Mega Man® X

  • Star Fox™
  • Star Fox™ 2
  • Street Fighter® II Turbo: Hyper Fighting

The retro controllers’ cords are also two feet longer, providing more reach so that you don’t have to be AS retro with having to sit only two feet away from your system and having your mother tell you that you’ll go blind sitting too close to the screen.  I mean, if you still live with your mother…

Nintendo will do better about making this system accessible to its consumers but not by too much. Nintendo has a lot of systems to manufacture between the 3DS, the new 2DS, and the Nintendo Switch. I am not sure if they are going to have the space for this or as Reggie said in an interview with TIME.

“We’ve got a lot going on and we don’t have unlimited resources.” – Source: Time interview

Even Nintendo released a statement showing where their focus lies…

I’m not going to be beating up any old ladies or little kids in the streets to get one of these, but if I just happen to come across one, yay me. If not- I own most of the games on the SNES Classic anyway. What I really want is these games to be in the eShop for the Switch.

Hint, Hint.

Tell me what you think about this! Are you excited about this SNES Classic or is it just another scalper-fest? Hit me up on Facebook or Twitter!
